However, a transformative moment occurred when I woke up on the floor and a cockroach crawled over my foot. In that moment, all the suffering disappeared, and I realized that my thoughts were the cause of my suffering.

Q: Where did the thoughts and beliefs that caused your depression come from?

The thoughts and beliefs came from within me. I believed that something terrible was going to happen, that something was wrong with me, and that the world didn't care about me. These beliefs created a cycle of depression, guilt, and insanity. The turning point was realizing that these thoughts were not true and that I didn't have to believe them.

Q: How did you start helping others who were suffering like you?

After my own transformation, people began reaching out to me from all over the world, seeking help and asking to live with me. I started showing them the experience I had on the floor, asking them questions like "Is it true?" This inquiry process helped them see that their suffering was caused by their thoughts and beliefs, just like mine was. I shared my insights and the practice of questioning thoughts with anyone who was open to it.

Q: What should someone suffering from anxiety or depression do to find hope?

The first step is to get in touch with their emotions and notice what they are feeling. Emotions can be a signal of what thoughts and beliefs are causing suffering. It's important to identify those thoughts, write them down, and then question them using the four questions and turnarounds of inquiry. This process can bring clarity and free a person from the grip of false beliefs.

Q: How does questioning thoughts and beliefs impact our relationships?

Questioning our thoughts and beliefs allows us to see that judgment keeps us separated from others. Instead of judging and demanding, we can approach relationships with inquiry and genuine curiosity. When we let go of judgment and question our beliefs, we create a space for connection and understanding.

Q: Are there thoughts or beliefs that we should have?

Thoughts and beliefs can either bring us suffering or liberation, depending on their truthfulness. It's important to question any belief that causes suffering and see if it aligns with reality. Ultimately, the goal is to live out of our true nature, which goes beyond any fixed beliefs or judgments.

Yes, the universe is a friendly place. What we think and believe about the universe determines our experience of it. If we love the universe as it is and question our thoughts and beliefs about it, we can see the inherent goodness and beauty that exists.

Q: How does childhood trauma and past experiences affect us?

Childhood trauma and past experiences can shape our thoughts and beliefs, which in turn impact our lives and relationships. The work of inquiry invites us to go into the center of those traumas, identify the thoughts and beliefs we held at that time, and question them. By doing this, we can free ourselves from the grip of past wounds and live in the present moment.

Q: What are the three types of business in the universe?

The three types of business in the universe are mine, yours, and God's. Being mentally or emotionally in someone else's business causes disconnection and suffering. By staying present in our own business and questioning our thoughts and beliefs, we can find freedom and clarity.

Q: What is the secret to your long and incredible relationship with Steve?

There was no reason not to marry Steve. He is good, kind, wise, and there was no valid reason to say no. Trusting my intuition and recognizing the qualities in him that align with my values and understanding of love have contributed to the longevity of our relationship.
