Requirement: a Glasp account.

Uses OAuth. No token to copy or paste.

search_highlights

Semantic search across everything you have highlighted — web pages and Kindle books together. Narrow to one or the other when you want to.

list_recent_highlights

What you highlighted lately, grouped by source. Takes a date window, so you can ask about a particular month.

get_highlights_for_url

Everything you highlighted on one specific page.

list_kindle_highlights

Your Kindle books and the passages you marked in them.

list_bookmarks

Pages you saved whether or not you highlighted them, filterable by kind.

What other readers marked

get_community_highlights

For any page, the passages two or more Glasp readers independently highlighted, with how many marked each. The only tool that is not about you — it works on pages you have never opened, and it never returns who highlighted what.

Saving (off by default)

save_bookmark

Adds a page to your reading list. The assistant passes a URL and nothing else — Glasp fetches the page and reads the title from it, so the assistant cannot choose what gets stored, and a URL that does not resolve to a real page is refused instead of saved. Off unless you turn it on when connecting, and it can never edit or delete anything.

Built with privacy in mind

Read-only by default

Saving is off unless you switch it on when connecting. Even switched on, the only write is adding a page to your reading list — nothing can edit or delete a highlight, a bookmark or anything else.

Scoped to you

Every tool but one is scoped to your account. Community highlights reads only passages people chose to make public, and returns counts without names.

Tokens are hashed

Access tokens are stored only as hashes. The secret is shown once and never kept in plain text.

Revoke anytime

Disconnect any app or revoke any token from your settings whenever you want.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MCP connector free?
Yes. It is included with your Glasp account.
What can it access?
Your own web highlights, Kindle highlights, bookmarks, AI summaries and AI-generated memories. One tool is different: community highlights returns the passages that two or more Glasp readers publicly highlighted on a page, as counts with no names attached. Reading is all it can do unless you turn on saving, which lets it add a page to your reading list and nothing more.
Which apps work?
Claude on the web, Claude Code, ChatGPT, and any client that supports the OpenAI API or the Model Context Protocol.
Can it change my data?
Only if you let it, and only in one way. Saving is off by default; when you turn it on, an assistant can add a page to your reading list by URL — Glasp fetches the page and reads the title from it, so the assistant does not choose what is stored. It can never edit or delete anything, and it can never touch your highlights.
How do I disconnect it?
Open Settings then MCP Connector to revoke tokens or disconnect connected apps at any time.
Is my data shared with anyone else?
Your private highlights stay private and are only ever exposed to the AI assistant you connect. Highlights you made public are already visible on your Glasp profile, and can also appear as an anonymous count in the community highlights tool, which never returns who highlighted what.
