Glasp is a free browser extension that highlights YouTube videos. It shows the transcript next to the player, and highlighting a line saves the passage with its timestamp — so the highlight is a link back to that second, not a note about a video you will never re-find. Video highlights land in the same library as your article, PDF and Kindle highlights, and export to Notion, Obsidian, Markdown or CSV.
Install Glasp on Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, then open any YouTube video. The transcript appears beside it.
Select a line of the transcript and highlight it. The timestamp is recorded with the passage.
Click a highlight to return to that second, export it to Notion or Markdown, or ask your library about it later.
The transcript sits beside the player. Select a line, pick a color, add a note — and the timestamp comes with it automatically.
