Have you ever wished you had a digital twin that could answer questions based on everything you’ve read and learned? With Glasp’s Ask Digital Me feature, you can create your own AI-powered knowledge assistant. It allows you (and others) to ask questions, and the answers are generated directly from your highlights and notes on Glasp.
This feature is powerful for:
Quickly recalling your past learnings
Sharing your expertise with others
Exploring other people’s digital twins and gaining insights
In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through how to use Ask Digital Me, from setting up your profile to asking questions and even hiding your digital twin if you prefer privacy.
Choose a browser you’re going to use: either Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, etc.
On your search tab, type in “glasp.co” and you will be automatically directed to the page of Glasp. Or access it from the link below.
Note: Although we have a Safari extension, PDF highlight is unavailable yet. Please wait until we build it for Safari.
Upon reaching it click Sign up (beta) and continue using your Google Account.

After finalizing your account, you will be redirected to the Chrome Web Store.
Click Add to Chrome(Brave or Edge) and install Glasp on your chosen browser.
Once you’ve installed your Glasp extension, go to its home page. Here, you will see the sidebar opened where you can test highlighting words or sentences. So, please click the Home icon on the sidebar.

Also, you are free to choose your favorite topics. Choosing your topics could be a leap step as this will help you identify the articles in line with your interests.

If you’re new to Glasp and don’t have enough highlights, please skip to Step 6.
You can go to the My Highlights page through the top bar. And you see the Ask Digital Me button at the top left of your profile page. So, please click it. It takes you to the digital twin page.

Below is the digital twin page. You can ask anything here. Please type your question in the search bar.

For example, I typed “What is product management? in the search bar. It generates an answer from your highlights.

As you can see, it responds summary of your question and lists the sources such as highlights and links to the article. So, you can open the original article to check.

If you ask a question that you haven’t highlighted yet or a random question, it takes you to Kazuki’s or Kei’s digital twin because he has much more content on Glasp.
If you haven’t highlighted any content or are interested in others’ digital twins, you can go see it. To do that, you can search for users through the search bar or click on someone showing up.

Below is Kazuki’s profile page, so please click Ask at the top left and go to his digital twin page.

You can ask him any questions you want. And his digital twin can reply to your questions as long as he has highlighted some content related to your question.

As our current digital twin uses public highlights, the answers from digital twin are similar to what you have highlighted before. But we understand that some people don’t want to show their digital twin, so we’re providing a way to hide your digital twin. Once you hide it, your digital twin is not visible to anyone.
To do that, please visit your digital twin page. At the top right, you see Setting, so please click it. In the Digital Model section, there is a check box. So, please uncheck Visible in Public. Once you have done it, your digital model is not visible.

We’re not offering a digital twin for reserved accounts.
If you haven’t highlighted any content, you cannot use the digital twin.
