The composition of recoverable resources found in each electronic product can differ significantly from another product type. For instance, while one piece of hardware can be comprised of a specific set of materials, another product may not include those materials at all. These discrepancies can create problems when dealing with mixed electronics in the case of rare earth metals recovery. In such cases, it would be beneficial to consider the different material makeup of each item as opposed to treating it as an identical waste product.
