Writing should therefore serve imagination, not replace it. The point is not to freeze every idea into a permanent identity. The point is to make ideas movable. Good notes remain open to revision. One practical method is to give every important idea a status. Is it an observation, a hypothesis, a question, a decision, or a story you are telling yourself? These categories prevent accidental promotion. A fear does not become a fact because it was written in complete sentences.
