The deepest businesses are not the ones that eliminate dependence once and for all. That is unrealistic. They are the ones that convert dependence into negotiating leverage. Every time the system changes, they retain enough optionality to avoid becoming subordinate to a single vendor, a single partner, or a single market narrative.

In that sense, the difference between a compelling near-term trade and a durable long-term compounder is not just valuation. It is sovereignty. One can spike on enthusiasm, a strategic tie-up, or sector rotation. The other can survive the next phase transition in the industry.
