"Building Glasp: Democratizing Access to Learning and Experiences"
I've always had a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on the world, just like my grandfather did through his steady way of life. I wanted to prove that my existence in this world had purpose, and I wanted to leave something useful behind for future generations. This desire to leave a positive legacy is ingrained in human nature - we all want to contribute something good that can be inherited and developed by those who come after us.
Throughout history, only a handful of individuals have managed to survive in the form of books and traditions. But why can't we effectively learn from the experiences of others? As Otto von Bismarck once said, "Only a fool learns from his own mistakes. The wise man learns from the mistakes of others." If we could create a system that allows everyone to share and develop their learnings as a legacy, it would be of immense value to humanity and all life on earth.
This is the driving force behind Glasp, a platform I am building to democratize access to other people's learning and experiences. Through Glasp, individuals can share the trajectory of their life experiences, especially the important parts, so that the next person who walks the same path can inherit and build upon that knowledge. Just like Mahatma Gandhi said, "My life is my message." With Glasp, we can make your message visible and accessible to others.
Now, let's shift our focus to a different topic - how to write a cold email. Cold emails are a powerful tool for reaching out to potential clients, investors, or collaborators. But in order to be effective, they need to be crafted carefully. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
-
Be clear about who you are and why you are worth paying attention to. Whether it's through your past institutions or roles, demonstrate credibility right from the start. Make it easy for the recipient to understand why they should take the time to read your email.
-
Keep your email short and attention-grabbing. People have limited time and attention span, so if your email is too long, it's likely to be sorted into the "later" bucket. Keep it concise and to the point to increase the chances of it being read and acted upon.
