Burnout is a state of physical and emotional exhaustion that often arises from prolonged periods of stress and overwork. As a startup founder, I experienced burnout firsthand. This not only helps prevent burnout but also allows individuals to recharge and come back with renewed energy and focus. Disconnecting from work and taking a proper vacation each year is essential preventive work in combating burnout.
It is also crucial to find activities outside of work that bring a sense of achievement and progress. Engaging in hobbies, volunteering, or pursuing personal projects can provide a much-needed break from work-related stress and give us a sense of fulfillment outside of our professional lives. By diversifying our sources of achievement, we can reduce the risk of burnout and find balance in our lives.

The Pink Elephant Paradox refers to the ironic process theory, which suggests that trying to suppress certain thoughts can actually make them more likely to surface.
