The Intersection of Writing Wisdom and Living a Fulfilling Life

Five Pieces of Writing Wisdom Most Writers Don’t Learn Until 5 Years In. If you can do it for five years straight your success will be inevitable. Most don’t make it that far. What stops them is their writing habit. If the habit remains, success follows. Always write in multiple places. There is no judicial system for content platforms. Their ruling is final. Diversify the way a smart investor would. Regular writing clarifies your thinking. With clear thinking comes crystal clear speaking (by default). Writing makes you an ideas machine. And it helps you communicate those ideas with the precision of a sniper rifle. What you write about then forms business ideas. Those ideas turn into money. Money helps you buy your time back. Ideas attract cool people too. if you talk to 6 and 7-figure creators you’ll quickly learn it’s freelancing, consulting, newsletters, courses, books, templates, membership communities, and coaching that make them the real money. What makes you money is writing. Writing builds your sexy career taller than the empire state building. Money, though, is what you don’t control. Good...

"He Sacrifices His Health In Order to Make Money – Live Love Simple". I had even convinced myself, that I was creating the life of my own dreams. I thought I’d done a pretty good job of ignoring societies rules and living by my own. But then I read the Dalai Lama quote and everything came crumbling down around me. It just really hit me that the reason that I do all of this is because I feel like I should or I have to and it’s all a complete load of bullocks. I am running around like a hamster going nowhere on a wheel—exactly what I tell everyone NOT to do—all because I think I have to. Why do I think I have to? Because I am confusing excuses with facts. And there is one fact excuse that keeps popping up over & over: I HAVE TO PAY MY BILLS. “You’re not your job. You’re not how much money you have in the bank. You’re not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet. You’re not your fuc*ing khakis.” Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

In the pursuit of success, writers often overlook the importance of developing a consistent writing habit. Many aspiring writers give up before reaching the five-year mark, where true success becomes inevitable. The key lies in maintaining a disciplined writing routine, regardless of external circumstances. Additionally, diversifying the platforms on which one writes is crucial. Just as a smart investor diversifies their portfolio, writers should explore various content platforms to increase their chances of reaching a wider audience.

Regular writing not only enhances one's ability to express ideas clearly but also serves as a catalyst for creativity. Writing acts as a conduit for turning thoughts into tangible business ideas, which can ultimately translate into financial success. However, it is important to remember that money should not be the sole driving force behind one's writing endeavors. While financial stability is necessary, it should not come at the cost of sacrificing one's health and overall well-being.

Many individuals find themselves trapped in a cycle of prioritizing work over their health, believing that they have no choice but to do so in order to meet their financial obligations. However, this mindset is flawed. As the Dalai Lama wisely stated, we are not defined by our jobs or our bank accounts. Sacrificing one's health for the pursuit of money only leads to a vicious cycle of trying to regain lost health and worrying about the future, without truly living in the present.

To break free from this cycle, it is essential to reevaluate our priorities and redefine success. Instead of solely focusing on monetary gains, we should strive for a balanced life that encompasses both professional fulfillment and personal well-being. Here are three actionable pieces of advice to help achieve this:

  1. Prioritize self-care: Make time for activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Incorporate exercise, adequate sleep, and relaxation techniques into your daily routine. Remember, a healthy mind and body are essential for sustained success.

  2. Set boundaries and learn to say no: It's easy to get caught up in the demands of work and other obligations. However, it is crucial to establish boundaries and learn to say no when necessary. This will help maintain a healthy work-life balance and prevent burnout.

  3. Cultivate a growth mindset: Embrace continuous learning and personal development. Expand your knowledge and skills by seeking out new opportunities and challenges. Adopting a growth mindset allows you to adapt to changing circumstances and find fulfillment in the journey, rather than solely focusing on the desired outcome.

In conclusion, becoming a successful writer requires more than just honing one's craft. It necessitates developing a consistent writing habit, diversifying platforms, and embracing the power of clear communication. However, true success should not come at the expense of one's health and overall well-being. By prioritizing self-care, setting boundaries, and cultivating a growth mindset, writers can find fulfillment in both their professional and personal lives. Remember, success is not solely measured by financial gains but by the ability to lead a fulfilling and balanced life.
