It is a fascinating approach if you are comfortable with sharing your annotations publicly, as this is where its true value lies. In essence, Glasp is a social network built around the act of highlighting and annotating text. It is still in its early stages but shows great promise.

Another notable PKM tool is Readwise, which takes a different approach by consolidating annotations from various sources such as Kindle, Instapaper, Pocket, and iBooks. It is a dominant player in its market and boasts an elegant and swift implementation. Readwise addresses the challenges I faced with Hypothesis, particularly in terms of moderation difficulties on websites I manage.

While these tools offer unique features and cater to different needs, they share a common goal of helping individuals organize and make sense of the vast amount of information available on the internet. They enable users to curate their annotations, creating a personal knowledge base that can be referenced and shared.

However, in our fast-paced and busy lives, it is easy to become overwhelmed and lose sight of our ultimate purpose. As Farnam Street aptly states, we often act as if we have infinite time, burying our awareness of mortality beneath our busyness.
