The mind must reconstruct the argument, recover the emotional tone, and remember why the idea mattered. A workspace that prevents ten such interruptions may preserve an entire hour of meaningful thought.

Most digital systems make activity easy to count: messages answered, documents created, meetings attended, or tasks completed. Creative progress is harder to measure.
