A dispute panel may need procedural independence because neither buyers nor sellers should control it.

A token weighted vote can be a poor substitute for institutional judgment. Wealthy holders may accumulate influence without contributing labor, improving quality, or bearing the consequences of bad decisions. This is especially problematic in a labor network, where the people most affected by rules may not own the most tokens.

Good governance therefore requires more than decentralization. It requires alignment between authority and responsibility. Those who make a decision should have a meaningful connection to the consequences, and those who bear the consequences should have a meaningful voice.

The decisive test is more demanding and more ordinary: does the system make cooperation more productive, more fair, and more durable for people who use it?

If so, the token may be useful, though it is not the achievement. If not, the token is likely a distraction from the absence of an institution.

The future of work will not be transformed when every freelancer owns a coin. It will be transformed when independent workers can finally own the infrastructure that makes their independence viable.
