While specific treatments for long COVID are yet to be developed, the focus must shift towards prevention and patient-centered multidisciplinary care.

Prevention remains crucial in minimizing the occurrence of long COVID. This includes efforts to keep COVID-19 cases low through vaccination and adherence to public health measures. Additionally, healthcare systems need to prioritize the provision of comprehensive support to patients with long COVID. These individuals often have complex multimorbidities and require physical, cognitive, social, and occupational support. Education and awareness about the clinical management of long COVID in primary care settings need to be improved, and inequities in care should be addressed.

Furthermore, reliable and authoritative platforms should be developed to support and guide patients with long COVID. These platforms can provide essential information on managing symptoms, accessing resources, and connecting with healthcare professionals who specialize in long COVID. Social supports, particularly those related to employment, should also be introduced to meet the specific needs of patients.

In conclusion, three years into the COVID-19 pandemic, it is evident that long COVID is a significant concern that requires recognition, treatment, and support. The impact of this condition on individuals' lives cannot be underestimated, and efforts must be made to enhance public awareness and healthcare systems' response. By prioritizing prevention, implementing patient-centered care, and addressing the existing gaps in education and support, we can better recognize, treat, and support patients with long COVID.
