Better sleep means more than an impressive nightly score. It means having enough recovery to remain steady through demanding seasons.

The mature approach is therefore neither total control nor romantic hardship. It is supported independence: use favorable conditions to build capabilities that remain available when conditions change.

That is the standard by which every optimization should eventually be judged. Not, “Did this make today feel smoother?” but, “Did this make my future self less constrained?”

The most advanced system is not the one that eliminates every source of friction. It is the person who has learned which friction to remove, which friction to practice, and which capacities to carry beyond the reach of any device.
