According to reports, there are now 54 individuals implicated in the case, with security authorities uncovering weapons in over 50 residences, houses, and storage facilities. Among the confiscated items were 9mm pistols, swords, knives, stun guns, combat helmets, night vision devices, and even the service weapons of a police officer and a policewoman who were among the suspects. It brings to mind Kurt Tucholsky's words from 1922: the weapons stockpiles of these "secret organizations" still suffice for the "surprise attack on an almost completely unarmed population." And yet, those who fund these anti-republic activities remain at large, despite their known identities. Fast forward to the present day, and we find that the investigators have also discovered significant amounts of money and valuables. It is reported that over 130,000 euros in cash, as well as a substantial quantity of gold and silver, have been seized. The Republic of 2022 is standing up against these threats...

Moving on to another pressing issue, credit card losses have become a cause for concern. In the first week alone, it was reported that signals could not be obtained from over 300,000 subscribers of a single operator. I asked a senior executive of a bank, "How many people in the earthquake-stricken areas have not used their credit cards since the earthquake?" Their response was, "Approximately 30,000 of our credit cards have not been used since the earthquake." Taking into account the market share of this particular bank's credit cards, we can estimate that around 200,000 credit cards are no longer active. However, the average credit card holder in Turkey has 2.2 credit cards. This means that the actual number of affected cards is closer to 90,000. Considering that nearly 49% of the population in Turkey owns a credit card, these 90,000 cards represent approximately 183,000 individuals. This is, of course, a rough estimate, but it brings us closer to the reality than the numbers officially announced.

These two seemingly unrelated issues highlight the importance of remaining vigilant and proactive. The discovery of the Reichsbürger terror cell reminds us that threats to the Republic can emerge from unexpected sources. It is crucial for security authorities to continue their efforts in dismantling such organizations and bringing their financiers to justice. Likewise, credit card losses serve as a reminder of the potential risks associated with our financial transactions.
