There have been many attempts to define the set of skills and competencies that a practitioner needs to be considered a fully competent organization development professional. Some of these efforts have been conducted by individual researchers, some have been sponsored by professional associations, and some have been associated with a college or university OD program. Each has offered a different set of skills and competencies, and a single approach has not yet been adopted.
