With season 3 of this show finally right around the corner and me barely able to contain myself as I wait, I decided it's high time I do some character studies of my favorites.

First up, Obergruppenführer John Smith (now Oberstgruppenführer, from what we've seen in the promo material so far). There is rarely a character THIS compelling on TV for me, and his heartbreaking storyline has been a favorite so far. He's such a good villain- to him, everything he's done is to protect his family. He likes winning, as far as I can tell, and so he's allied himself with the side that lets him do as much.
