Educational Research and Training is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and the State Government on policies and programs for the qualitative improvement in school education. The major objective of NCRT and its constituent units are to undertake, promote and coordinate research in areas related to school education, prepare and publish model textbook, supplementary

materials, newsletters, journals and develop kits. It also organize pre-service and in-service training of teachers, develop innovative educational techniques, collaborate and network with State Educational Departments, Universities. and NGOs. The council headquarter is located at Sri Aurobindo Mark, New Delhi. The council has the following constituent units located at different regions of the country.
