Hi, my name is Jacqueline Guzman, I will talk about the don't imitate about relying too much on technology. Nowadays, it is not as easy as it used to be, I would rely on technology. However, it is as important as other essential life skills to learn how to use it wisely and moderation. Don't imitate about relying too much on technology. I have seen how some people have lost important opportunities because they didn't know how
to solve problems without a computer or a phone. I'd say that technology makes life easier, but sometimes it becomes a barrier when we rely on it too much. Okay, so I have tried to change my habits, for instance, now I plan my week without using any apps. One day, my phone stopped working, so I had to repair it during that time. I had to find traditional ways to communicate. I have experienced that we can be much more self-sufficient than we think.
And technology is not as reliable as people believe. Imagine a power outage or a situation where you lose access to the internet, okay? And what would you do? A friend of mine, Lucas, is not very tech-savvy, but he manages to live a perfectly organized life. He doesn't need apps and neither do I, okay? So, at the same time, there is a denial that technology plays a huge role in our lives. We use it to work, study, and even relax.
But have you noticed how much time we waste scrolling through social media or playing video games? Studies have shown that people use their phones less often and are more productive and feel happier. So, I started to make small changes, began by learning of my devices during the meals and conversations. That small adjustment made a big difference in how I connect with others. Another point to consider is how our fair reliance on technology offers our critical
thinking skills. When was the last time you solved a problem without good glimpses? It is often believed that technology provides all the answers, but this is not always true. We should challenge ourselves to think critically and find solutions without depending on a screen. Additionally, overusing technology can harm our relationships, for example, when we spend too much time on our devices. With many neglect, the people around us imagine a dinner where everyone is glued to their
phones instead of talking. That is not as meaningful as having a real conversation. Now, finally, let me share a personal reflection. There was a time when I had my laptop first and had to work on paper for two weeks. At first, I was frustrated, but eventually I realized that I was more focused and creative. This shows that we don't need to rely entirely on technology to be efficient or successful. So, what can we do to break free from this dependency?
Start small, turn off your phone during certain activities and set limits for screen time. Challenge yourself to learn new skills without digital tools. Remember, if I can't do it, so can you. In conclusion, technology is a powerful tool, but it should not control us. Don't even think about forgetting that. Thank you very much for your attention.
