About the Video

Since 2014 Harvard University has been teaming up with local non-profit, Food for Free on a food recovery and donation program that works to curb food insecurity in Cambridge and Boston by “bridging the gap between waste and want.” Since it was started in 2014, the program has donated an approximately 30,700 meals per year. This past summer Harvard took it one step further, and launched the Family Meals initiative, where students package individual meals, which Food for Free is then able to donate to hungry families that may have limited cooking facilities.
