About the Video

The Petro Jacyk Resource Centre was created to support the activities of the Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (CERES) and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. Officially opened in March 1995, it is named after Petro Jacyk, a Toronto businessman and philanthropist, who donated the necessary startup funds. Mr. Jacyk gave generously to the development of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Toronto. The Foundation in his name, the Petro Jacyk Education Foundation, continues this support of Ukrainian scholarship and collections at the University.
