Notes
on newsletters by Benedict
Evans (5min)
Email newsletters are older than the web, and paid
newsletters are older than the internet. Though it’s
easier to pay for an email than a web
page, making it paid is and was really hard.
That’s the first problem Substack solved. Also,
Substack drives recommendations and discovery. Then,
would Substack be a network or a tool? Remember, you
can own your content, but that’s trivial - it’s the
network that matters.

by Deb Liu (8min)
Deb Liu shares good life lessons and advice that
helped herself. Let go of perfectionism. Break
free of the sunk cost fallacy. Stop ruminating.
Think of your future self. Make space for the small
things. Look forward, not back. Run your own race.
Embrace the risk of being judged.
