The primary analysis is what a majority of first-time users will recognize as the user interface even if they don’t know what the icon, button, or content means yet.
Prior knowledge of concepts and conventional meaning allows the artistic motifs and visual codes in the image to communicate more and in turn, we can recognize the events and interactions taking place in the image.
The intrinsic level, as well as being addictive, communicates things that the creator of the image or design may not have consciously been thinking about during its creation.
If we, the UX community, do not understand the underlying “basic attitudes of a nation, a period, a class, a religious or philosophical persuasion” of our creations, it will be increasingly hard for us to justify our value. By digging into the primary motivations for why a product makes it into the world, we can then attempt to bring the best experience to our users.
