Vast and distant goals seem hopeless and unrealistic. It's easy to become demoralized and give up.
Kaizen is the principle of gradual change. It asks us to make small changes, slowly and over great time. It's a hard skill to master in an age of instant gratification.
Even if you tried to live a faultless, blameless, perfect life, there is always something left to criticize.
No one is perfect.
the point is not to be perfect, but to be better; flawlessness is impossible.
âI am not a âwise man,â nor⌠shall I ever be. And so, require not from me that I should be equal to the best, but that I should be better than the wicked. It is enough for me if every day I reduce the number of my vices, and blame my mistakes.â
It literally translates as âgood change,â and itâs the practice of gradual, continuous improvement. Itâs the philosophy that says we can all better ourselves, but the best (and most sustainable) way to do so is slowly and in small steps.
It will probably take you longer, yes, but it gets done.
slowly, slowly and over great time, great things can be done.
