Unlocking the Mechanism of Sense: The Entertainment of Effort

Have you ever noticed that when you truly enjoy something, the effort you put into it doesn't feel like work? It's because when we become passionate about something, the effort required becomes almost like a form of entertainment. While others may perceive it as a tremendous amount of effort, for the person involved, it feels more like a pleasurable pastime. This is the key to continuously improving and refining our sense or skill in any given area. In essence, as the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect," but it's essential to truly love what you're doing.

In the realm of work, results are everything, but those who genuinely love what they do find fulfillment in the process itself. One of the advantages of having a genuine passion for something is that there is no room for failure. Passion cannot be forced or commanded upon someone, and it cannot be measured by deadlines or dates. Ultimately, the things that cannot be bought with money are the most valuable.

Being a Supportive Presence in the Hearts of Entrepreneurs

To truly understand the relationship between religion and business in a different culture, I decided to spend about a year studying abroad. It was my first time stepping off the beaten path, and living abroad opened my eyes to a whole new world. I noticed that everyone was working in T-shirts and shorts, free from the constraints of what is considered conventional or normal. Through my studies of religion, attending weekend masses and worship services, I became aware of the concept of individual freedom.

Just like in recruitment, where hiring five people doesn't guarantee that all five will be successful, it is essential to apply the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle. However, when it comes to co-founders, there is often a tendency to seek that perfect one-to-one match. Instead, I believe in working together without putting pressure on each other, and if things go well, then becoming co-founders. In our case, it was purely by chance that we found that perfect match, and we consider ourselves fortunate for that stroke of luck.

The Key to Success: Being Indispensable to Others

As we work tirelessly day and night to create our service, we often hear users say, "I just want to create something as a hobby and have fun on weekends." This difference in enthusiasm became the final push that led us to make the decision to close the project. On the flip side, I believe that entrepreneurship and service creation are about not giving up. Therefore, we must always strive to have no reason to quit. In that sense, being in a state where "someone desperately needs you" reduces the reasons to quit.

I think it's important to clearly distinguish what to keep and what to discard, as getting stuck in a half-hearted pivot can waste both time and money. By investing in an unfamiliar industry and utilizing our own experiences to support entrepreneurs, we also gain knowledge about that industry in return.

However, through investing in several companies, I realized that this purpose doesn't always align. I don't constantly seek frequent information disclosure from the entrepreneurs I invest in, and I understand that as an entrepreneur myself, being asked detailed questions every few days can be burdensome. Therefore, I realized that viewing angel investments as a means to "obtain primary information" is slightly off.

Three Actionable Advice to Enhance Sense and Entrepreneurship

  • 1. Follow your passion: Discover what truly excites you and pursue it wholeheartedly. When you love what you do, the effort required becomes enjoyable, leading to continuous improvement and the development of your sense or skill.
  • 2. Embrace the process: While results are important, finding fulfillment in the journey itself is what separates successful entrepreneurs from the rest. Enjoy the process, and success will follow.
  • 3. Be indispensable: Strive to create something that others truly need. By being in a position where others rely on you, you reduce the reasons to quit and increase your chances of long-term success.

In conclusion, understanding the mechanism behind sense and entrepreneurship requires finding joy in the effort required. When we love what we do, it no longer feels like work but rather a form of entertainment. This passion and enjoyment fuel our continuous improvement and development of our sense or skill. Additionally, being a supportive presence in the hearts of entrepreneurs and being indispensable to others are crucial elements for success. By following these principles, we can unlock our true potential and achieve remarkable results in our chosen fields.
