The doctoral program at Harvard Business School has specific requirements that students must meet within certain timeframes. By the end of the second year, all doctoral course requirements and the organizational behavior examination should be finished. By the end of the third year, all required courses, the qualifying paper, and all examinations and reviews should be completed. By the middle of the fourth year, the dissertation prospectus should be approved. Students must complete all degree requirements, including the dissertation, within five years or they will be required to withdraw from the program.
