When we try to control situations, we often make them worse. When we let God take over, miracles happen. We should see God, not as a copilot to be called upon only in times of distress, but our captain, all the time.
There are many things beyond our control – the wind and the weather, other people and a whole host of circumstances – but we can learn to control ourselves, and how we set the sail in response to each challenging situation.
The same rule applies with regard to most fears we have around social interactions. The best way to overcome such fears is to focus on developing genuine goodwill and love towards other people.
Perfect love does not concern itself with an impression or an image we leave behind.
If we shift our thinking from what we fear to what we can achieve, we will be able to act with more courage, despite those fears.
