Acts are morally permissible (licit) only in so far as they are capable of being ordered toward God as our final end and highest good.
The will of the human person is responsible before God for choosing to do good, and to refrain from doing evil. Therefore, neither a good intention or purpose, nor a difficult circumstance can justify such a choice.
Neither circumstances nor intention change the nature of the chosen act from evil to good.
When we apply these principles to marital sexual ethics, we must evaluate each knowing deliberate choice, based on intention, object, and circumstances.
