The Last Diet helps you shift your definition of kind behaviors away from being habits that give you instant relief, comfort or distraction, to choices you’ll be glad you made for yourself the next day.
you need to be OK with curiously and consciously listening to your self-sabotaging thoughts and willingly feeling your impulses, instead of impulsively acting on them or pushing them to the back of your mind as soon as they pop up.
If at any point in this process you’re unsure about whether the choices you make for your body are kind or not, simply consider whether they’re the same choices you’d make for the body of the person you love most in the world.
The process of losing weight will be much easier if you start trying to do all the things you plan to do when you’ve lost weight as soon as possible. Your weight may well fluctuate throughout your life for a range of reasons. It cannot be a criterion for liking yourself or enjoying your life.
The Last Diet approach believes that tough love, warnings and scare tactics might get us going initially, but they don’t keep us going.
