Allowing everything to be as it is immediately puts you in alignment with reality, with how things are, flowing with the river of Life instead of struggling against it, which immediately eliminates all psychological friction and added suffering.
Treat even the most intense arisings with the same dispassion as a discursive thought about what you want for dinner later. Just thoughts, feelings, sensations. Just empty phenomena of no special significance. Just more to be witnessed and let to pass.
That’s why allowing everything to be as it is works. Every time you try, in your meditation, to change things, improve things or reach some goal in your meditation, you move further away from Who you really Are, Pure Awareness.
