Listening is an expression of confidence. To listen shows that you are secure enough in yourself that you can actually quiet your chattering mind in front of another person.
Listening takes the onus off the Self and puts it squarely where it belongs: On the present moment.
The most confident thing you can do in any social situation is make eye contact, listen, and respond. That’s it. It’s that simple.
Asking a question is the opposite of making a strong choice. By asking a question, you force your partner to make the strong choice for you.
So instead of asking questions, make statements instead. Start a conversation with an opinion or story. Tell the other person something about yourself, instead of asking them for info.
