What we can do is to create the conditions needed for good performance to take place. We can create an environment of trust and transparency, of motivating challenge and stretch, of care and support, where people perform because they want to, not because they are told to.
People feel underled and overmanaged. They are hungry for good leadership: direction, inspiration, and support. Good leaders should create clarity, capability, and commitment.
