It is also more readable and the imminent digitalization of your notes allows editing on the fly. In contrast, hand-written notes take more effort to write and it is harder to add additional text in the middle of the note. Handwritten notes may be easier to recall due to the motor skills employed in the writing process.
Nothing beats pen and paper as soon as you need figures to assist the text in your notes.
On paper, I write my meeting notes top-down on the page and these action points bottom-up. This approach keeps the two apart and if they eventually meet, I just draw a line and move to the next page.
a tip of dividing every page down the middle and keeping notes on the left side and action points on the right side. After having done this for some time, I noticed a lot of wasted space in the action column. Eventually, I switched the division direction from vertical to horizontal.
In digital, this may be somewhat easier. You can either flag the text by writing TODO or Q in front and then move the action point to your task management system after the meeting.
Capturing whiteboard drawings
This is undoubtedly best done with a camera app. Several apps can auto-adjust the image, filter it, and save it as either an image or as a PDF document. I
